PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map information correcting device capable of, when the area obtained from map information is different from the area managed separately from the map information, eliminating the inconsistency. SOLUTION: The map information correcting device comprises: a map information storage section 11 for storing map information including graphic information indicating at least the position of each vertex of one or more regions and scale information indicating a scale; an area information storage section 12 for storing area information indicating the area of one or more regions; an area calculating section 13 for calculating the area of a region indicated by the graphic information; a judging section 14 for judging whether the area of the region calculated by the area calculating section 13 coincides with the area of the area information corresponding to the region; a correcting section 15 for correcting, when it is judged that both areas do not coincide, the map information so that both areas coincide; and an output section 16 for outputting the information after correction.
