PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packet coding method and apparatus and a decoding method and apparatus capable of preventing band stress while maintaining an amount of data file exchange by P2P.

SOLUTION: The method includes: a step of coding and compressing packet data irreversibly to generate coded data (S3); a step of determining whether the coded packet data has been registered in a cache table (S4); a step of registering unregistered coded data in the cache table (S5); a step of transmitting the packet whose coded data has not been registered (S6); a step of replacing data of the packet whose coded data has been registered with the coded data to generate a coded packet (S7); and a step of transmitting the coded packet (S8).
