PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder capable of suppressing occurrence of a variation in density due to a variation in an ejection characteristic, and a method for recording an image. SOLUTION: This image recorder is equipped with a nozzle block in which a plurality of nozzles for ejecting ink droplets for forming dots so as to form an image are arranged to be inclined in a main scanning direction. A recording head has the plurality of nozzle blocks arranged in a subscanning direction that is a transporting direction of a recording medium. The image recorder moves the recording head in the main scanning direction perpendicular to the subscanning direction so as to form a linear image in the main scanning direction by singling, thereby recording an image. The plurality of nozzles for forming dots constituting the linear image are formed such that the nozzles having different ejection characteristics are combined in the nozzle block so as not to generate variation in the subscanning direction.
