PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paddy field working machine capable of suppressing the outward diffusion of a mud flow wave with a washboard having a broad wave-protective action and suppressing troubles caused by a reflecting mud flow wave without necessitating a troublesome operation. SOLUTION: The paddy field working machine includes a machine body (2) supported by rear wheels (11) in a manner to enable the traveling on a paddy field, a working device (4) mounted on the machine body (2) and performing a paddy field work, and a float 56 placed on the front side of a working position (P) of the working device 4 and leveling the field. Washboards (53R, 53L) extending back and forth at the front end of the float 56 are placed at the right and left of the machine body at both sides of the float, these right and left washboards (53R, 53L) are supported in a manner switchable between two positions of a wave protective position and a housed position and held at different positions, and the positions are exchanged each time the machine body turns its moving direction.
