GRANULAR MATERIAL TRANSFER CHUTE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain abrasion of an inclined plate caused by granular material and to hold down the running cost in a chute for sliding and transferring the granular material obliquely downward. SOLUTION: This chute 21 is adapted to transfer solid slug or the like generated by water-cooling and solidifying molten slug discharged from a melting furnace obliquely downward by its head load. An inclined surface 26 receiving the granular material in the chute 21 is provided with a plurality of weirs 27 for stopping the flow of the granular material at preset spaces in the flowing direction of the granular material.
