<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a position detection device accurately detecting the position of a dot formed on a recording medium, an image processor, a position detection method and a position detection program. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A CPU 14 acquires black area information showing a center-of-gravity position of each of black areas extracted from image information showing a test pattern constituted so that the dots are formed to be nearly linear, and the center-of-gravity position of the black area in a first area previously determined as an area including the dot positioned at one end previously determined in the nearly linear test pattern is detected as the position of the dot positioned at the one end by using the black area information, then the center-of-gravity position of the black area in a second area previously determined as an area including a dot adjacent in a direction of the other end from the detected position of the dot is detected as the position of the adjacent dot.
