The invention relates to a method for producing a tubular article, in particular an endlessly closed drive belt, with an elastic basic body, comprising a top layer and a carcass, wherein the top layer surface and/or the carcass surface are/is assembled with a textile tube, characterized by at least the following method steps: a textile web (1) is cut to size according to the circumferential dimension of the top layer surface and/or the carcass surface; the two ends (2, 3) of the textile web (1) which is cut to size are joined to one another without an overlap, wherein the endless closure at the join point (4) to form a textile tube takes place by means of a flat structure (5), wherein the two flat end regions (6, 7), which run in an aligned manner, of the textile web (1) which is cut to size connect on one or both sides with bridging of the join point (4) and in the process are provided with adhesion properties with respect to the textile, to be precise with the formation of a permanent adhesive bond; the textile tube is then assembled with the top layer surface and/or the carcass surface of the article blank.
