The invention relates to a storage compartment for cooled material (10) for the storage of cooled material in a refrigerator.  The cooled material storage compartment (10) can be installed preferably in the inner door (11) of a refrigerator and features a storage bottom (1) which rests in a storage plane, and also a retaining shelf (3) which is arranged on at least one side of the storage bottom (1) in order to prevent cooled material from falling out from the cooled material storage compartment (10).  The storage bottom (1) has one or a plurality of continuous openings (2) which are suitable for accommodating of cooled material, especially of eggs (14).  Preferably the cooled material storage compartment (1) consists at least in part of wire (5a, 5b, 5c).  The invention is also intended for a refrigerating unit equipped with this kind of cooled material storage compartment (10).
