METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING SYNCHRONIZATION CHANNEL USING MULTI-ANTENNA

The disclosed method for transmitting a synchronization channel in one embodiment of this invention comprises the steps of: applying a cyclic shift to the sequences of the synchronization channel based on a shift value which is allocated for each antenna in a terminal in advance, and transmitting, from a base station to the terminal, the sequences to which the cyclic shift is applied. A space-frequency block code and a space-time block code (SFBC/STBC) are applied to a broadcast channel. The disclosed method enables synchronization regardless of the number of antennas used in the transmission in a base station while performing time/frequency synchronization in the synchronization channel, and is able to estimate a channel for each antenna. Therefore, transmission method for a BCH/control channel/data channel can be diversified to improve performance.
