<p>Provided is a magnified reading device which is convenient to use and easy to carry. This magnified reading device (1) is comprised of a close-up screen (20), an image display (1a) having a display screen (30), and a document mounting device (1b) having a mounting surface (40) for mounting a document (D). The image of the document (D) placed between the mounting surface (40) and the close-up screen (20) is read out and displayed under magnification or with no magnification on the display screen (30). The magnified reading device is provided with an image read-out unit (2) which reads out the entire image of the document (D) one time by receiving the light reflected from the document (D) and converting the light into electrical signals; a written character read-out unit (4) which detects the pressure on the mounting surface (40) when characters are written on the document (D); a controller (5) which stores the data of the entire image in an image memory (54), extracts a portion or all of the image data and applies image processing, and overlays the written character data on the image data to generate the display data; and an image display (3) which receives the display data and displays the image on the display screen (30).</p> |
