<p>A pixel of a liquid crystal display device is provided with first and second linear orientation regulation structures (10a) and (20a). The first and second linear orientation regulation structures have first components extending along a first axis L1 and second components extending along a second axis L2 different from the first axis. The first and second axes divide an angle which at least polarizing axes of a pair of polarizing plates form into two. At least either of the first and second linear orientation regulation structures is a rib (20a). The first component (20a1) of the rib comprises three or above first straight line parts arranged along the first axis. The adjacent two parts form an angle of ?1 of 50°=?1<180°. A direction dividing ?1 into two is disposed to be almost orthogonal to the first axis. The second component (20a2) of the rib comprises three or above second straight line parts arranged along the second axis. The two adjacent parts form an angle of ?2 of 50°=?2<180°. The direction dividing ?2 into two is disposed to be almost orthogonal to the second axis.</p>
