PURPOSE: A piston for a swash plate type compressor and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve the stiffness of a piston and simplify manufacturing processes of the piston. CONSTITUTION: A piston for a swash plate type compressor comprises a piston body, a head part, and a disc. The piston body(55) is connected by a shoe to operate with the rotation of the swash plate and reciprocates. The head part(1) is integrated with both sides of the piston body through drawing. The disc(2) is integrally welded to shield the end of the head part. The head part is formed at both ends of the piston body by injecting molded piston body through a forging drawing process.
