<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for the diagnosis and control of cardiac insufficiency by finding a cardiac insufficiency-related gene and using the gene or a protein encoded by the gene. <P>SOLUTION: An agent for the prevention and/or treatment of cardiac insufficiency contains a heart-specific myosin light chain kinase gene or a protein encoded by the gene, use of the gene and/or the protein for the prevention and/or treatment of cardiac insufficiency, a method for identifying a compound for the prevention and/or treatment of cardiac insufficiency by selecting a compound promoting the expression and/or function of a heart-specific myosin light chain kinase, a method for the prevention and/or treatment of cardiac insufficiency by using the gene and/or the protein, a myocardial sarcomere reassembly promoting agent containing the gene and/or the protein, a method for detecting myocardial disorder including the detection of the gene and/or the protein, and a zebrafish cardiac insufficiency model having suppressed expression of the gene. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
