CATALYST APPARATUS, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURE OF CATALYST APPARATUS, AND STRUCTURE FOR RETAINING CATALYST CARRIER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fix a catalyst carrier to an external cylinder by a simple structure in a catalyst apparatus wherein the catalyst carrier is accommodated in the external cylinder.

SOLUTION: The catalyst apparatus 1 includes, the catalyst carrier 10 on which a catalyst having an exhaust gas purification function is supported, the external cylinder 13 in which the catalyst carrier 10 is accommodated, and a retainer mat 12 arranged between the catalyst carrier 10 and the external cylinder 13, and further includes a high-friction part 14 arranged between the catalyst carrier 10 and the external cylinder 13 in order to prevent the movement of the retainer mat 12.
