<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for scaling down data size of at least one bit map having a plurality of image components related to respective color planes. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A plurality of color planes are ranked by using the control ranking of the color plane based on the data of the related image components.
