PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a woody composite building material which can be conveniently manufactured at a low cost and is excellent in design properties and durability, and to provide a joining structure of a woody material. SOLUTION: The woody composite building material is manufactured by providing a number of fungiform projections 22 and 22 on the back face 31 of the woody material 3 and on the surface 41 of a base material opposing the back face 31, and joining the back face 31 of the woody material 3 and the surface 41 of the base material 4 by engaging the projections 22 and 22 with each other. The joining structure of the woody material is manufactured by providing a number of the fungiform projections 22 and 22 on the back face 31 of the woody material 3 and on the surface 41 of a base material opposing the back face 31, and joining the back face 31 of the woody material 3 and the surface 41 of the base material 4 by engaging the projections 22 and 22 with each other.
