The method involves detecting a vehicle environment using a sensor. The data of the sensor is converted into a picture on a display unit (1) using a processing device, where the display unit is designed as a contact or convergence-sensitive display unit. A determined parking space is marked in the picture. Two parking spaces are determined during past driving and are marked in the picture. The parking space is selected by the driver using an input unit i.e. rotary-pressure-sensor (6), where the driver receives the parking assistance in the selected space. An independent claim is also included for a driver assistance device comprising a sensor.
