<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce restrictions on selection of a material for a retardation layer, and to make it hard that impurities infiltrates into a polymer liquid crystal layer or diffuses from the polymer liquid crystal layer. <P>SOLUTION: A color filter substrate includes a substrate 210, the retardation layer 230b which faces part of one principal surface of the substrate 210 and contains a liquid crystal substance having mesogen fixed or a polymer thereof, or a crosslinking body, and a color filter layer 220 including a colored layer 220b covering the entire upper surface and side surfaces of the retardation layer 230b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
