<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the insertion loss of an optical wavelength filter comprising a silicon filament optical waveguide capable of being miniaturized, with a structure easy to manufacture. <P>SOLUTION: Light input to an input waveguide 101 is separated into light A and light B by a polarization separating element 102, and the plane of polarization of the light A is rotated at 90°by a polarization rotating element 105, and the light B and the light A which has had the plane of polarization rotated are made incident on a filter element 107 from opposite directions respectively to filter, and the plane of polarization of the light B which has passed the filter element 107 is rotated at 90°by a polarization rotating element 109, and the light A and the light B which has had the plane of polarization rotated are combined by a polarization combining element 114. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
