<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image heating apparatus for simultaneously preventing temperature rise at a non-sheet passing portion and securing fixing properties in a gap between divided heat generating resistors. <P>SOLUTION: The image heating apparatus includes a heater 3 disposed on the inner surface of an endless film 2 so that its longitudinal direction is parallel to the base line of the endless film, and having first heat-generation segments 6, 14-1 and 14-2 and second heat-generation segments 6, 14-3 and 14-4, each of the heat-generation segments having a plurality of heat generating parts connected electrically in series in the longitudinal direction of the heater. Each of the heat generating parts has a first electro-conductive pattern provided along the longitudinal direction of the heater on a substrate 7; a second electro-conductive pattern provided along the longitudinal direction of the heater on the substrate and having a region that overlaps with the first electro-conductive pattern in the longitudinal direction of the heater; and a heat generating resistor which electrically connects the respective overlapping regions of the first electro-conductive pattern and the second electro-conductive pattern with each other and generates heat by a supplied electric power. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
