PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology which can perform authentication according to the operating condition of an apparatus on the user side. SOLUTION: When a user requests provision of a service to a service provision server 16 by a communication device 10, an authentication server 17 acquires presence information of a wireless terminal 11, a soft phone mounting apparatus 13 and a messenger mounting apparatus 15 possessed by a user who requested provision of a service from a presence server 19, selects an authentication system corresponding to the acquired presence information, and then transmits a one-time password from an audio reproducing server 21 or an IM transmitting server 22 to the wireless terminal 11, soft phone mounting apparatus 13 or messenger mounting apparatus 15.
