<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid droplet ejecting apparatus which can suppress generation of density irregularities in a sub scan direction of a formation image caused by inclination of a head posture at the time when a matrix type recording head moves in a main scan direction, without the configuration being made complicate, and to obtain an image forming method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the recording head 50, nozzle groups having nozzles arranged inclining by a predetermined angle to the main scan direction are set in the sub scan direction so that intervals to the sub scan direction of the nozzles adjacent to each other in the sub scan direction become nearly the same and so that positions to the sub scan direction of the nozzles belonging to each nozzle group become nearly the same. The recording head 50 forms dots to a recording paper 14. A carriage belt 54 moves the recording head 50 back and forth in the main scan direction while inclining the recording head in an opposite direction to an axis orthogonal to the main scan direction in the forward movement and the backward movement. A belt 32 conveys the recording paper 14 by each distance which is a width to the sub scan direction of a dot formation region multiplied by a predetermined integer smaller than the number of the nozzle groups between the forward movement and the backward movement of the recording head 50.
