PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of machining a rolling bearing device for a wheel capable of suppressing damage occurring in the rolling bearing device for a wheel, improving machining accuracy of the squareness of the rolling bearing device for a wheel and flatness of a wheel mounting surface, and suppressing occurrence of an abnormal noise. SOLUTION: In such states that relative positions between a central axis of an inner shaft 1 and a central axis of an outer ring 3 are changeable, and the outer ring 3 and the inner shaft 1 rotate synchronously, the inner shaft 1 is rotated in the circumferential direction with an end surface 50 of an annular protrusion portion 79 as a reference, the end surface 50 being a reference point for machining a raceway groove 20 of the inner shaft 1. In such a state that a head part of a bolt 10 abuts on a wheel mounting flange 15, the wheel mounting surface 19 is machined by contacting a cutting tool 90 in the radially outer portion of a bolt insertion hole 17 of the rotating wheel mounting surface 19.
