The method involves utilizing exhaust heat produced by a cooling circuit (3) and feeding into a heat pump (1), where the heat produced by the heat pump is output to a load (4) or a heat removing device (32). A heat coupler (2) is interconnected between the cooling circuit and the heat pump for providing the exhaust heat of the cooling circuit to the heat pump as an energy source. A cool water circuit or a cool water tank is provided as a heat coupler between the cooling circuit and the heat pump. An independent claim is also included for a device for exhausting waste heat of a cooling circuit.
