PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a field coil assembly of an electromagnetic clutch for a compressor comprising a coil formed by computing the optimal value of the diameter of a wire formed of an aluminum material according to a cross-sectional area in a core of the field coil assembly and winding a wire formed of the aluminum material having an optimal diameter, in the case of forming the coil of the field coil assembly of the electromagnetic clutch for the compressor by winding the wire formed of the aluminum material.

SOLUTION: The field coil assembly of the electromagnetic clutch for the compressor is provided with a core and the coil provided on the core and formed by winding the wire formed of the aluminum material. The area ratio R of the cross-sectional area M of the inside core and the cross-sectional area of the wire is not smaller than 400 and not larger than 640.
