<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user interface which supports an intuitive GUI operation by operating devices during the driving of an automobile and which can be operated by the driver without looking down at the hands. <P>SOLUTION: This interface system 100 for a driver of an automobile comprises a touchscreen 120, a control module 118, and a display part 106. The touchscreen 120 is located proximate to the driver of the automobile and upon driver interaction therewith is operable to generate a sensor signal. The control module 118 is adapted to receive the sensor signal from the touchscreen and is operable to initiate control of an automobile function and to generate a tactile feedback signal in response thereto. The touchscreen 120 is adapted to receive the tactile feedback signal from the control module and is operable to provide tactile feedback to the driver of the automobile in response thereto.
