METHOD OF TREATING NONFERROUS SMELTING INTERMEDIATE PRODUCT CONTAINING ARSENIC

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treating arsenic contained in nonferrous smelting intermediate products, especially a method that, in the treatment of arsenic in its sulfide form, satisfies the leaching standard (in accordance with Notice No.13 from the Environment Agency), realizing excellence in filtration performance and easy formation of stable scorodite at high reproducibility without any cumbersome operation.

SOLUTION: Scorodite is produced through a leaching step of leaching arsenic in a weakly acid region from a nonferrous smelting intermediate product containing arsenic; a liquid regulation step of adding an oxidizing agent to the leachate so as to oxidize the trivalent arsenic to the pentavalent arsenic; and a crystallization step of converting the arsenic in the resultant regulated liquid to scorodite crystal.
