PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal member for liquid phase diffusion joining which enables a joint to obtain an equivalent quality to a mother metal after joining, while a resin composition to coat a surface of an insert metal, which is prepared on a face to be joined by liquid phase diffusion joining, has an excellent abrasion resistance and gives the insert metal adhesiveness to the face to be joined, and furthermore, does not remain on the joined surface owing to decomposition by high-temperature heating during the liquid phase diffusion joining. SOLUTION: The metal member for liquid phase diffusion joining is used for liquid phase diffusion joining of metal members together and is characterized in that the insert metal is fixed on the liquid phase diffusion joining face of the metal member for liquid phase diffusion joining, and the surface of the insert metal is coated with resin layer.
