PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tonneau cover device enhancing operability without impairing designability. SOLUTION: The automobile 1 is provided with: a baggage chamber 6; a baggage chamber opening part 3; and a rear gate 2 openably/closably covering the baggage chamber opening part 3. The tonneau cover device for the baggage chamber 6 is provided with the tonneau cover 9 extending from a front position of the baggage chamber 6 left from the baggage chamber opening part 3 to the baggage chamber opening part 3 side and covering the baggage chamber 6; and a guide rail 14 provided on a portion covered by the rear gate 2 of the baggage chamber opening part 3 and guiding vertical movement of a cover distal end part 13 of the tonneau cover 9.
