PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side guide for smoothly discharging cooling water jetted to the upper surface of a steel sheet from cooling equipment when the cooling equipment for jetting cooling water to be opposed with each other in a steel sheet conveyance direction to the upper surface of the steel sheet is installed close to, for example, a hot rolling mill. SOLUTION: The side guide 10 includes: a first side guide 11a and a second side guide 11b which are arranged with an interval in the steel sheet conveyance direction by sandwiching an area where upper surface cooling water 23a, 23b jetted from the cooling equipment 20 to be opposed with each other in the steel sheet conveyance direction impinges on the upper surface of the steel sheet 1; and a connection beam 12 for connecting the upper part of the first side guide 11a with the upper part of the second side guide 11b.
