<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light irradiation device for avoiding the event that a getter or a holding member adsorbing and holding it is evaporated and deposited on the inner wall of a hot cathode tube to cause early blackening thereof when a discharge current is increased to produce high output, and to provide an inkjet recording device using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The light irradiation device uses the hot cathode tube on which the getter is mounted near at least one electrode in a bulb.
