摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical compensation film contributing the improvement of a gradation property of a VA mode liquid crystal display device and to provide the VA mode liquid crystal display device having excellent and balanced display characteristics in all of a visual field characteristic, contrast and the gradation property. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical compensation film for the VA mode liquid crystal display device, in-plane retardation Re (550) at 550 nm wavelength is 20 to 100 nm and thickness direction retardation Rth (550) at 550 nm wavelength is 60 to 120 nm.
