PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing material having excellent water cut-off property even under high pressure or in an environment containing a surfactant. SOLUTION: The sealing material includes a rubber resin closed-cell foamed sheet containing 100 parts by weight of a rubber resin and 1.5 to 6 parts by weight of an antioxidant and having an apparent density of 20 to 100 kg/m<SP>3</SP>in conformity to JIS K7222, and preferably, the rubber resin contains nitrile-butadiene rubber by not less than 30 wt.% The sealing material shows stable water cut-off property even under high pressure or in an environment containing a surfactant.
