PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antigen useful as a vaccine component for treating and/or preventing a disease caused by a group B streptcoccus (GBS). SOLUTION: The protein derived from the group B streptcoccus (GBS) is antigenic and therefore a useful vaccine component for prevention or treatment of streptcoccus infection in animals. Other embodiments include a vector containing a polynucleotide gene combined operably with an expressive regulatory region, a host cell transfected by the vector and a production method of a polypeptide including cultivating the host cell under the conditions suitable for expression.
