SOLUTION: The film for suspension or retainment packaging comprises a vinyl compound copolymer containing a monomer unit based on a linear α-olefin having 2 to 20 carbon atoms and a monomer unit based on the following vinyl compound (X). The content of the monomer unit based on the linear α-olefin is 97 to 90 mol%, the content of the monomer unit based on the vinyl compound (X) is 3 to 10 mol%, and a limiting viscosity is 0.9 to 3 dl/g. The vinyl compound (X) is a vinyl compound having the formula: CH2=CH-R, wherein R is a secondary alkyl group, a ternary alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, a substituted cycloalkyl group, an aromatic series group, or a substituted aromatic series group.
