<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily remove a fixed pedestal from an optical module having an optical component fixed to an enclosure through the pedestal. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The optical module includes the optical component and a pedestal 10A holding the optical component in a prescribed position on an optical axis to fix it to the enclosure, and a notched part 11A having a portion 11A-1 which causes a force to act in such a direction as to pull the pedestal 10A apart from the enclosure, in a state where the pedestal 10A is fixed to the enclosure is provided in part of the pedestal 10A.
