<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel pipe pile which has an excellent intrusion performance and can increase the intrusion resistance after the intrusion with a deformed tip end part to be prevented from being settled. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The steel pipe pile 1 has an intrusion promotion means formed at its tip end part 12. As the intrusion promotion means, a projection part projecting downward from a body part 11 is formed at the tip end part of the steel pipe pile 1. The projection part, when ground reaction P equal to or more than a specified value acts thereon, is deformed in the direction to increase the intrusion resistance. In this case, projection part is formed into a conic part 121 covering the end part of the body part 11, and when the ground reaction P equal to or more than the specified value acts on the projection part, the portion near the center of the projection part is deformed on the body part side.
