<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toothbrush wherein the state of bristles implanted to a head portion can be varied actively and positively according to the state of the teeth and gums different among respective persons and according to the washed state varying moment by moment. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The toothbrush is provided with at least one linear hinge portion which penetrates from the end of the head portion to the rear end of a handle portion through a neck portion. Thus, the whole toothbrush can be bent within a plane perpendicular to the direction of a straight line penetrating from the center of the end of the head portion to the center of the rear end of the handle portion.
