PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wide-band multiwavelength light source. SOLUTION: The wide-band multiwavelength light source is provided with: a first multiwavelength light generating means for generating a multiwavelength light from a first laser light source, and a second multiwavelength light generating means for generating a multiwavelength light from a second laser light source. The wide-band multiwavelength light source is provided also with: a first branching means for extracting part of wavelength of the multiwavelength light from the first multiwavelength light generating means, as first control light; and a second branching means for extracting part of wavelength of the multiwavelength light from the second multiwavelength light generating means, as second control light. The wide-band multiwavelength light source is provided further with: a phase detecting means for detecting a phase difference between the first second control lights, and a phase control means for controlling a phase of one of the first and second laser light sources, according to a detected phase signal.
