A cooking appliance comprises a suspended unit (8) configured to serve as an oven and a hood, having a casing (20), a muffle at least partially defining a cooking chamber (31), means for heating the cooking chamber (11, 35, 36) and support means (41, 42, 43a, 45). The casing (20) has a lower opening substantially aligned or concentric with respect to a lower opening of the muffle and the cooking chamber (31) is in fluid communication with a duct (50) which connects a fumes outlet (51) of the muffle (30) to a suctioning group (6). The support means (41, 42, 43a, 45) are prearranged such that the suspended unit (8) is adapted to be displaced between a raised and a lowered position with respect to a support surface (2, 10a), where in the lowered position the lower openings of the casing (20) and of the muffle are substantially closed by the means of a support surface (2, 10a). The duct (50) is adapted to vary in configuration, when the suspended unit (8) is displaced between the raised and lowered position. |
