PURPOSE: A receiver of OFDM wireless communication system and a demodulation method thereof are provided to perform more exact diversity operation by tracking a signal with large scale SNR. CONSTITUTION: A receiver of OFDM wireless communication system includes a demodulator(30). The demodulator comprises a sampling frequency offset estimating unit(335), a sampling frequency offset compensation unit(320), a mode detection unit(325), a fast Fourier transform performing unit(345), and a pilot detection unit(350). The sampling frequency offset estimating unit estimates the sampling frequency offset about one among plural signals. The sampling frequency offset compensation unit compensates the sampling frequency offset presumed about a plurality of signals. The mode detection unit detects the transmission mode of the OFDM wireless communication system among signals compensated with the sampling frequency offset. The fast Fourier transform performing unit produces the symbols of the frequency domain. The pilot detection unit detects the pilot from symbols corresponding to one among the plural signals.
