The method involves the following phases: a) fitting the cuff (1) on the part (11) of the body that is to be examined and emitting signals through a window, b) identifying on the screen (13) which element, chosen from the elements of the absorbent mass that form the interface between the skin and the element that is to be analysed, is to be analysed, c) inflating the cuff until it is visible on the screen that the state of this element has started to change, d) reading and storing the cuff pressure value P0 needed to achieve this state, and resuming inflation, until it can be seen on the screen that the element analysed has changed state to the desired extent, followed by stopping this inflation and reading and storing the cuff pressure value P1, e) measuring and storing the circumferential length L of the examined part of the body, and f) transferring the stored values of P0, P1 and L, either to a magnetic medium or to means of manufacturing an elastic splinting bandage or to the means for tensioning an inelastic bandage. In an alternative form, a software package uses the equation T = P x L / 2 p to convert the recorded values P0 and P1 into tensions T0 and T1 to be applied to the elastic threads of the bandage in order to obtain the expected effects on those elements of the body that are to be treated. |
