<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diene based rubber composition that improves the performances on ice, resistance to compression set (resistance to set) and low heat build-up required of a studless tire in a good balance and can afford to give a vulcanizate effectively used for its cap tread part and the like. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The diene based rubber composition incorporates 4-8 pts.wt. of zinc monomethacrylate, 2-13 pts.wt. of diatomaceous earth and 30-80 pts.wt. of carbon black based on 100 pts.wt. of a diene based rubber. The vulcanized molding obtained from this diene based rubber composition improves the performances on ice, resistance to set and low heat build-up required of the studless tire in a good balance and therefore is effectively used as a molding material for the cap tread part of the studless tire and the like.
