The method comprises welding a test body (2) with welding current strength (30) falling or raising during seam welding and then determining where the welding current strength is effective on the seam, over the welding time. The welding current strength: is determined over an angle of rotation of a welding roll or over the length of a wire electrode for weld; is selected over the seam length in a linearly falling or raising manner; and has two ranges with different upward gradient of falling or raising. The welding current is applied at a distance from a top (3) of the body. A correct welded place (A) on the test body is determined by visual examination of the test body and the welding current strength corresponding to the position of the place on the welding seam is determined.
