A solar energy storage apparatus comprises a container 4, 5 having a solar cell 2 and a lead-acid battery 1 assembled in an accommodating space 6 within the container 4, 5. An opto-electronic conversion circuit 10 is connected between the solar cell and the battery such that the solar energy can be converted and stored in the battery as chemical energy. Further, a fixture is combined with the accommodating container. The fixture may be a post 8 and spike 9 for inserting into the ground or a pedestal (12, fig 4) for fixing on a wall. |
