PURPOSE: A rotary damper is provided to reduce manufacture cost and simplify manufacture processes by operating foldable vanes with simple structure and opening and closing a ventilation hole. CONSTITUTION: A rotary damper(30) includes a main body, a vane fixture piece, a foldable vane, and a driving unit. A ventilation hole(32) is formed in the main body(31). A vane fixture piece(36) is combined with the main body to cross the ventilation hole. The foldable vane(37) is combined with the vane fixture piece and opens and closes the ventilation hole. The driving unit operates the foldable vane. The driving unit includes a vane shaft, and a knob. The vane shaft(51) is vertically coupled on the center of the vane fixture piece and rotates the foldable vane. The knob(52) is formed at the outside of the main body and operates the vane shaft and is rotatable. A flexible coil spring(54) is interposed between the vane shaft and the knob to deliver the torque of the knob to the vane shaft.
