The binding has on the sole side between the engagement element (15) and the front sole end (13) a projection (22) which can be brought to bear against a stop (23) on the binding side so that the boot (11) is held in engagement with the engagement element on the binding side whilst at the same time can execute a tilt movement (24) about an imaginary cross axis behind the stop or projection, especially between the projection and the engagement element. - The engagement element on the binding side and the attached boot can swivel up against the action of a coil compression spring (19).
