A dwelling 52 of a person has at least one electronic device 56 with which the person interacts, such as a domestic appliance. (eg microwave oven fig 3). The electronic device/appliance 56 has usage sensors connected to processor 82 and a transmitter 86 of the usage data which is received, possibly via relay means 60, by a remote monitoring station 64. The usage data may include interactions of a person with the device user interface, and the persons operation of the device. The remote monitoring station 64 produces an evaluation of the person's health or cognitive ability by analyzing the received data. The analysis may include comparing current and historic statistics and include changes to cognitive ability. The data may be analysed to detect rates of use, frequency or interactions, timing of interactions and may analyse the order of events to measure instances of incorrect use and accuracy of operation. |
