LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY AND DRIVING METHOD OF THE SAME

PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display and a driving method of the same are provided to improve display quality and to reduce power consumption. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display and a driving method of the same comprises a signal control unit(600_1), and a liquid crystal panel(300). The signal control unit converts a first image signal with a native gamma coefficient into a second image signal with a target gamma coefficient smaller than the native gamma coefficient. The liquid crystal panel indicates an image in response to the second video signals. The liquid crystal panel includes a luminous unit providing lights to a liquid panel. The luminance of the light provided to a light emitting unit is controlled.
