PURPOSE: A method and a terminal for displaying caller identification using presence information are provided to prevent non display of caller information because the caller information is not transmitted due to network traffic. CONSTITUTION: A method for displaying caller identification using presence information comprises the following steps. Presence information of an originating terminal is received and stored(715). A communication signal connection message corresponding to the originating terminal is received(720). The presence information of the originating terminal is extracted corresponding to the communication signal connection message and outputted as caller information(730,735).
